1,500 plus Nepalis benefitted from consular service in California

More than 1,500 Nepalis have benefitted directly from the consular service in San Francisco, California. It was run by the Nepali Embassy in Washington DC, USA. 1,500 plus Nepalis benefitted from consular service in California


A total of 1,515 Nepali got consular services. The Embassy informed that 1,506 Nepalis were provided passport and visa-related services, while five were provided documents for legal representation.1,500 plus Nepalis benefitted from consular service in California 


The camp earlier scheduled to run for five days from January 22 was extended for 3 more days in view of the influx of service seekers1,500 plus Nepalis benefitted from consular service in California..    plus Nepallid


Chairman of the Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association in California, Hari Ojha, informed that the Nepalis living not only in California but also in the neighbouring states reached the camp to receive services.    


The NRNA and other organizations had been lobbying for long to conduct consular service in California in view of sizeable population of Nepalis there.    


Charge d’ Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission, Sharad Raj Aran, informed that the Nepal government had adopted the policy to provide services to its citizens at their doorstep and the consular service camp was held in line with every policy.    


It was difficult to provide services easily to the Nepalis living in the US owing tothe  vast geography. So efforts were on to set up the extended offices of the Nepali Embassy in San Francisco and Texas, according to him.
