Defence Serve Rai on Saturday come to the influenced zone with a group comprising senior government authorities, security authorities and specialists. After watching the condition of the flood-hit zones and the upstream through helicopter assessment, they concluded that the reason behind the surge was ice sheet outburst.
The authorities found that two of the five lakes shaped over the Thame town in the Everest locale had burst and overflowed downstream.
Chief Locale Officer of Solukhumbu, Devi Pandey, who was one of the individuals in the minister-led review group, said that two of the five lakes over the town burst on Friday. Two other lakes see possibly perilous and may breach any time whereas the remaining one looks secure, concurring to her.
The Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rustic Region in its facebook page on Saturday said after the helicopter assessment it was presently affirmed that the surge was activated by the cold lake outburst.
